Auction Procedures
The Silent Auction tables
will open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 9:30 p.m.
The
Silent Auction Lots are displayed on a series of tables in the center of the
reception room at Pier
Sixty. A
brief description of each Lot, specific terms of purchase, if any, and a bidding
sheet are placed beside each Lot. Each Lot may contain one or more items as
described on the bidding sheet. Please turn to the Silent Auction section of the
Auction Catalogue for a brief description of the Lots to be offered.
Bidding
Lot prices represent suggested opening bids, and do
not necessarily reflect the value of any Lot, except as otherwise noted on the
Lots. To bid on a Lot, guests should clearly fill in their name, phone number
and the amount of the bid in the spaces provided on the bidding sheet. Bidding
must begin at or above the minimum bid, and progress by the incremental amount
specified on the bidding sheet.
Successful
Bidders
Once the Silent Auction has closed, the highest
bidder on the bidding sheet will be considered to have purchased the item;
however, any bid which does not exceed the prior bid by at least the incremental
amount will be rejected and annulled. From 10:15 p.m., the reception / prize table will post the names of the
successful bidders for the Silent Auction. Successful bidders may pay for their
Lots and arrange for their collection once the Live Auction has been closed by
presenting themselves at the reception / prize table in the reception area.
In the event that the successful bidder has not made payment for a Lot by the
end of the evening, the Auction reserves the right to offer the Lot to the next
highest bidder for the price bid by that bidder. No lot may be removed from the
