Global NY FDI Tour of the Capital District
Empire State Development agency hosted a 2 day tour of New York State.The November 2016 road tour started with the Capital District and Mid-Hudson Regions. During the two-day program, we had the opportunity to meet with NY state government officials, representatives from diverse industry groups and economic development organizations.

OFM/NY Coastal Clean-Up Event
We would like to invite your Consulate to join colleagues from the Office of Foreign Missions - New York (OFM/NY) in an exciting and rewarding project celebrating the 31st International Coastal Cleanup Day and in support of the goals of the upcoming 2016 Our Ocean Conference in September - which will be hosted by Secretary John F. Kerry.
With the assistance of the Ocean Conservancy, the Office of Foreign Missions in New York (OFM/NY) is organizing a team from the consulates in New York City to clean the shoreline at Spring Creek, near the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, the morning o September 9, 2016. OFM/NY will provide transportation for participants to and from the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge from midtown Manhattan. We hope you and members of your staff will join us.

Cocktail Reception
Following the General Assembly, President of SOFC Hon. Jana Trnovcova, Consul General of Slovakia invited members and partners of the Society for a cocktail reception and talked about priorities of the upcoming Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event was held at the Residence of the Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the UN.

Annual Assembly of SOFC
At the annual assembly for members of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York
Hon. Jana Trnovcova, Consul General of Slovakia summarized all activities and achievements of the past year. Elections for office-bearers were held and new members of the Executive Committee were elected for 2016-2017. Hon. Brentnold Evans, Consul General from Guyana will assume the new role as the President of SOFC on July 1, 2016. The event was held at the Residence of the Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the UN.

Tour of 311 Premises
Recently members of SOFC had an opportunity to tour the premises of the NYC government service 311. 311’s mission is to provide the public with quick, easy access to all New York City government services and information while maintaining the highest possible level of customer service. The event was kindly organized by Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in New York Hon. Raushan Yesbulatova.

#SOFC celebrated International Women’s Day on March 18, 2016. We use this occasion to award women for their outstanding professional achievements and contribution to community empowerment in the USA. Consul General of Slovakia in New York and President of the SOFC Jana Trnovcova opened the Ceremony. Bill de Blasio, Mayor of New York in his message congratulated the honorees. The Society is proud to acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of each of recipient to her respective community.
